Nothing can help your overall life like a good night’s sleep. The average person spends up to one third of their life sleeping. Here are some tips to help you get the best night’s sleep:Your sleeping environment
- Better sleep begins with choosing the right mattress for you and your partner. Ask the Expert for tips on how to choose the right mattress for you.
- Create a sleep-conducive environment that is quiet, dark, and cool (ideally 60-65 degree Fahrenheit).
- Choose a pillow that allows for the proper head/neck positioning.
Sleep Time
- Maintain a regular sleep schedule, even during weekends.
- Create a regular bedtime routine. Different pre-bedtime activities can include a hot bath, reading, or listening to soothing music.
- Exercise regularly, but try not to work out within 3-4 hours of bedtime.
- Avoid caffeine, alcohol, or nicotine close to bedtime. They can keep you awake.
- If you are not asleep after 15 minutes get up and do something low key until you are ready to sleep.
